Dr. Slavin is an active member of Accredited Standards Committee ASC-O5 ("ANSI-O5") for wood poles and products. He is a Charter Member of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology, and has been responsible for the development of directional drilling standards through the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI). In addition to the ASTM, Dr. Slavin is a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and is author of “Overhead Distribution Lines – Design and Applications”, published by Wiley-IEEE in 2021.
